SurFlash® Polyurethane I.V. Catheters are made of flexible, kink-resistant and durable polyurethane. They feature a sharp double-bevel introducer needle plus a medical grade lubricant, which allow for easier penetration and smoother travel through tissue.
Preview chamber in clear sure-grip hub gives immediate indication of proper needle placement and SurFlash® has the added benefit of visual confirmation of catheter placement during venipuncture, which occurs in a flash!

Q. What do two flashes indicate with SurFlash IV Catheter?
A. The initial flashback in the transparent flash chamber indicating successful needle tip entry into the vessel. The second flashback along the catheter indicating proper catheter tip entry into the vessel.
Q. Is SurFlash IV Catheter a safety device?
A. SurFlash IV Catheter is a conventional IV catheter with no safety device. Terumo does offer a similar IV catheter with a passive safety activation device with Surshield-PUR Safety IV Catheters (link to Surshield-PUR page).
